Scott, I know it isn't much, but I thought you'd get a kick out of this trinket. I'm looking forward to spending the rest of my life with you. I can't wait until this conflict is behind us. 'Till we meet again, my love...

—Marlene Rush, Pre-recorded Message

Marlene Rush was a communications officer on-board a ship that was part of the second Earth Reclamation Force and a character on Robotech: The New Generation, where she was voiced by Melanie MacQueen. She was Scott Bernard's fiancé, but was killed shortly after her ship failed to penetrate the Invid's defenses on Earth. She was originally a character in Genesis Climber MOSPEADA, the series which was adapted into the third "saga" of Robotech.

HistoryEdit

Marlene Rush was Scott Bernard's girlfriend and later, his fiancé when he proposed to her before prior to the battle to reclaim Earth. They were part of the 21st Mars Division, part of the Mars Base Earth Reclamation Force. The attack proved disastrous, as the Invid's superior numbers overwhelmed and destroyed nearly the entire fleet. As Marlene's ship attempted to enter Earth's atmosphere, it came under Invid attack and was destroyed. Scott Bernard, who managed to survive and land his veritech fighter on Earth, was devastated by her loss. Prior to her death, she gave a special pendant to Scott as a memento of their romance, which Scott used as a motivator for his mission to destroy Reflex Point.

Scott would later name the amnesiac Invid stimulagent Ariel, Marlene, after his dead love.
