Vince Grant was an officer of the Robotech Defense Force (RDF), who later served under the deep space forces of the Robotech Expeditionary Force (REF). Vince would later volunteer to join the Pioneer Expedition along with his wife, while leaving their son in the care of Rolf Emerson. He made a brief appearance in Robotech II: The Sentinels and was voiced by Richard Epcar.
Vince and his wife, Jean Grant, had a son, Bowie Grant. However, work for the Robotech Defense Force (RDF), and later, the Robotech Expeditionary Force kept Vince away from home for much of Bowie's life. When the announcement came that the newly completed Super Dimension Fortress-3 Pioneer (SDF-3) would launch in 2022, Vince and his wife volunteered. They left the care of their son at the hands of his friend, Rolf Emerson, whose wife Laura always wanted to have a child. Vince said goodbye to his troubled son, and promised he would see his son again.
- Vince Grant was originally seen in the Classic Robotech work, Robotech II: The Sentinels. He served as Captain Rick Hunter's aide-de-camp, and was notable for having a fairly offensive character design.
- Vince saw a far larger role in the Jason and John Waltrip comic adaptation of the same name, this time as a Commander of the ground forces during the Sentinels campaign. He was criticized for his thin characterization.
